Enjoy a bowl of whisked green tea and a Japanese confection while learning about traditional and contemporary tea practices in Japan.
Nancy Hamilton, Cultural Programming Coordinator, Sarah P. Duke Gardens, and instructor in the Urasenke Tradition of Tea, will lead guests through a traditional Japanese tea gathering.
“The Japanese tea tradition is such a wonderfully rich practice: artistic, seasonal, and poetic, sharing so many of the themes brought alive by the Ackland’s ‘Season of Japan’ exhibitions and events,” says Hamilton. “I look forward to exploring these areas of resonance and to sharing a delightful moment with our guests over a bowl of tea.”
Offered in conjunction with the Ackland Art Museum’s “Season of Japan.”
Limited to 20 participants. $25 for Ackland members; $35 for non-members. Advanced registration is required. RSVP to acklandRSVP@unc.edu.
