The Japanese Critical Studies Group will host an informal discussion with Harry Harootunian, Visiting Professor in the Duke Program in Literature, Professor Emeritus of History and East Asian Studies, New York University, this Wednesday 6 March. The discussion will focus upon Miki Kiyoshi and chapter 6 of Professor Harootunian’s book,Overcome by Modernity. All are welcome, but seating in the room is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible, including in the “to:” field of your e-mail both organizers for the event, Takushi Odagiri (to30@duke.edu) and Michael Quick (myq2@duke.edu). If interest exceeds the capacity of the room, we may have to turn people away.
