See the remarkable transformation of the Ackland’s Japanese screens and scrolls that have recently returned to the Museum from the Nishio Conservation Studio in Washington, D.C. Ackland Conservation Lyn Koehnline discusses the nature of the conservation process, shows us the “before” of these venerable artworks, then leads us on an “after” tour of the works on view. You are invited to tour the Ackland’s conservation studio following the gallery talk. Presented in connection with New Light on Japanese Painting: Recently Conserved Screens and Scrolls.
